Extravagant Provision

In December, 5 on our 12 person team were unemployed. Finances were starting to get tight and anxieties were running high. The "benefits" of unemployment were running out and the boredom was setting in.

In late December, Steph was offered a job with a really cool non-profit organization. Then Denise started a temp job, and then a month long contract in the development group at a really great organization. Then James got a job offer from World Impact - where a few of the other interns work. And then I started at the after school program and coffee shop. THEN just last week, Dan started a job with an engineering company in Long Beach! In just over a month, we went from 5 unemployed team members to ZERO. Praise God for his faithfulness and extravagant provision!

"Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." Psalm 107:8-9

Just wanted to share the good news! Thanks so much for your prayers!

P.S. - Things are going well at the after school program and coffee shop, but the learning curve is steep and it's been a little tiring to juggle the two jobs and the internship. My brain seems to always be busy. Please pray for an absence of anxiety and a settling in to my new busy life! ALSO - my knees have been rebelling in a big way to the constant on-my-feet lifestyle. Please pray for healing for my knees. It makes me very sad to have to slow down and sit on the sidelines of my active lifestyle. Can you recommend any remedies? What are the best shoes/insoles for a constantly standing lifestyle? Any supplements or exercises that have helped your aching knees? All advice and prayers are welcome! Thanks! :)

  1. Congrats on getting a job. Would you rather be doing LOMA's? :) As for the knee thing I have a few suggestions.
-eat a good diet. Low Sodium. This will help with swelling and discomfort (not to mention over-all health). High Calcium. Calcium is vital to connective tissue and bones, and studies show that as we age women are more likely to be deficient in this then men.
-stretch / massage. Stretching 10 min every morn and evening will keep muscles loose and more relaxed, increase blood flow, and facilitate movement of the lymphatic system. Massaging (gently, on the muscle and where muscle meets bone) can have the same effect as stretching, but can be targeted to problem areas.
-relax. you are awesome and an inspiration. you are doing things that most of us only dream of. but... even an Olympic athlete knows when to take it easy. cheers and prayers.
